BAM Trans Siberian Railway escorted by the original author (and rail aficionado) of the first ever guide book to this route - Athol Yates.

US$1950 per person sharing. This is a provisional price.
Post exploratory tour:
19 days – only 3 people to accompany Athol.
This extension will have only a basic amount of advance planning with no guarantee that any part of the plan will actually happen when you get to a place.
Costs: In advance there will be a basic administration fee. In addition, if there are any known costs, for services that we feel will happen, this can be paid in advance. All other costs will be, 'as you go'.

Days 1-5: Irkutsk to Tunguska Meteorite impact site.
Day 6: Tunguska to Bratsk 1 day
Day 7 - 11: Bratsk by Ferry to Yakutsk 5 days
Day 12: Yakutst to Tynda 1 day
Day 13-15: Tynda to Komsomolsk to Nikoloviask 3 days
Day 16-17: Explore to gulag tunnels to Sakhalin Island 2 days
Day 18-19: Nikoloviask to Vladivostok to home 2 days
Price:
Administration fee; US$180 per person.
Visa: If you do this 'post exploratory' tour your visa will have to be for more than a months. Therefore, you have an increased cost for the invitation paperwork and actual issuance of the visa stamp. Current estimate = US$300. This visa would cover your entire time.
