Stani Goma. Host of Australias most popular African Music radio programme.

Stani is the presenter and producer of Flight 1067 to Africa on PBS-FM every Sunday between 3:00 and 5:00pm. The program features music from all over Africa and takes the listener on a musical journey around the African continent to discover the rich and diverse sound of Africa.

Born and bred in the Congo, Stani grew up in Brazzaville literally across the river from Kinshasa, the capital of African dance music. Growing up in such a musical environment undoubtedly instilled a deep passion and appreciation of African rhythm. Highly regarded as an experienced and knowledgeable presenter, Stani’s involvement in Community radio started in 1990 soon after arriving in Australia.

Over the years Stani has met and interviewed many African greats such as Hugh Masekela, Youssou Ndour, Angelique Kidjo, Baba Maal, Papa Wemba and was the MC for the Miriam Makeba concert at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in 2006.

Stani is also a registered clinical pharmacist with wide-ranging professional experience in the health sector and is currently working in the area of Indigenous health. He has lived and studied in China, travelled in Asia, Europe and Africa. Aside from English he speaks a number of Congalese languages as well as French and Mandarin.

Amadou Dama:
I am Dogon. I was born in Koro and grew up in Bankass. For many years I work as a guide for groups and individual travelers in Mali and Burkina Faso and organize journeys for specific European travel agencies and touroperators.

Marja Oostwoud Wijdenes:
I am Dutch. I traveled to Mali for the first time in 1998 and I was so impressed and touched by the people, nature and daily life that I came back several times since. I also traveled in Burkina Faso and Senegal.
In Amsterdam I worked for a women's union, the FNV Vrouwenbond, as a project coordinator and before I was a social worker for several years. Since January 2002 I am living in Bamako

Brent McCunn: Owner of Passport Travel. Passport Travel concentrates on special interest tours. As an avid listener to 3PBS FM and Flight 1067 from Africa and a member of a band (Blues Jazz) along with a long asscoation with Africa, conceiving a tour programme like this was a natural progression.

Brent's African connection starts when he was a student in the 1970's. Playing in a rock band he soon discovered 'Osibisa', the first African band (from West Africa in fact) to make it into the western dominated music market. He still has those original vinyl records!

He finally arrived in Africa to work in 1980 and dicovered the pulsating sounds of "Matatu Music". The following picture illustrates a journey through Africa in 1981. He's the then fit European chap!! Through various employment, with UK based Adventure tour operators, the last 21 years with his own business, and child sponsorship this connection has continued.
